A CLASS OF MIXED FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS

 I had no intention of taking the course MAC 317- Online Journalism because it is an elective course,  but the other alternative course I had was a "no go area" for me, so I had no choice than to settle for online journalism. My encounter in the class of MAC 317 has been filled with a lot of mixed feelings and emotions, because sometimes, I felt like I fully understood what is being taught in the course and at other times I felt like I have no idea of what is going on. 

  The First Class for MAC 317 took place at the old sociology class with less than fifty students in attendance. The course was taken by Dr Akintunde Akanni (a lecturer from the department of journalism). The dynamics of the internet was treated as the first topic,  this topic enlighten the students on understanding the dynamics of the internet. Other topics that were treated in the course of study are News production in the age of internet,  From basic internet to social media,  managing online platforms, social media and their basic characteristics and Pitfalls/cautionary measures for online journalism as the last topic. 

 The class has been an educating one as the students were taught how to make use of online platforms for news and information dissemination. Both individual and group works were assigned, an example of the group work is the creation of blog. 

After the completion of all classes, a test was meant to be done by the students but due to certain reasons and circumstances it was cancelled.

All in all,  the class has been filled with different experiences ranging from tension, confusion and finally joy of understanding the topics.
