TEEN MARRIAGE RUINED MY CAREER -LILIAN CHUKWUKA

By Iwuchukwu Cynthia  Lilian Chukwuka described her childhood as tragic. She always had the dream of becoming a great woman in life but things changed when she was 17. Teen marriage is the union of two adolescents, ranging in age from 13 to 19, who are joined in marriage.  Just like the case of Lilian, most teen marriages are unplanned. Factors responsible for teen marriage can be traced to poverty, illiteracy, religion, tradition, love, family, peer group, media influence, sexual abuse, and unwanted pregnancy. In November 2016, Nigeria became the 17th country to launch the African union campaign to end teen marriage. The strategy’s vision is to reduce teen marriage by 40% by 2020. MY EXPERIENCE IN ONLINE JOURNALISM CLASS

By Ella Okafor At the beginning of the hamattan semester of the 2017/2018 session in 300 level, a new course was introduced to all journalism students. This course is titled "Online Journalism ", and it is meant to enlighten journalism students on the internet and how it has come to avail journalists, especially with the radical intervention of Professor Tim Berners-Lee.   The course was taken by Dr. Akanni, and he took his time to discuss key topics with us. Some of these topics are: The dynamics of the internet, understanding the dynamics of the internet, News production in the age of the internet, managing online platforms, and lastly, Introductory data journalism.  With all that were discussed, I've been able to know some of the technical concepts of both local and international organizations of which few of them are: Online Publishers Association of Nigeria(OPAN), Nigeria Internet Registration Association(NIRA), GOCON, Nigerian Press Organization(NPO)....
